CMU soccer teams lose, receive tournament seeds
The Colorado School of Mines eliminated the Colorado Mesa University men’s soccer team’s hope of hosting a RMAC tournament first round game.
Mines defeated the Mavericks 2-0 to clinch the No. 2 seed. Mesa (8-6-4, 6-5-3 RMAC) received the No. 5 seed and plays at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in the first round of the RMAC tournament. The winner advances to the RMAC semifinal at 2:30 p.m. Friday at top seed Regis (16-0-1, 14-0-0 RMAC).
The Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team scored three goals in the second half to defeat Colorado Mesa 3-0 and clinch the No. 2 seed for the RMAC tournament later this week.
The Mavericks (9-6-3, 6-6-2 RMAC) lost their third consecutive game and received the No. 6 seed for the tournament. Mesa plays at No. 3 seed Metro State (12-4-2, 9-3-2) at noon Wednesday in Denver.
