CMU women’s golfers struggling at Arizona tourney

The Colorado Mesa University women’s golf team is in last place after the first round of the 18-team Grand Canyon Women’s Invitational tournament Monday.

St. Edward’s leads the field with 305 strokes, five ahead of host Grand Canyon University at Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Michelle Stripp leads the Mavericks with an 87, tied for 67th place. CMU’s Zoe Woodworth shot an 89, followed by teammates Audrey Meyer (95), Summer Igo (96) and Torrie Sauer (99).

The final round of the tourney is today.
