Colorado Mountain Winefest recognized by national mag

In its September issue, Better Homes and Gardens magazine included Colorado Mountain Winefest in the list “5-to-try Fall Wine Festivals.”

Also making the list are the Saratoga (New York) Wine and Food Festival, Grapevine (Texas) GrapeFest, the Niagara Wine Festival in St. Catharines, Ontario, and Chesapeake Bay Wine Festival in Stratford, Va.

Colorado Mountain Winefest, which continues to garner state and national attention, takes place Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 16–19, in our own backyard.

The Festival in the Park on Saturday will see 56 Colorado wineries offering samples of their wines at Riverbend Park in Palisade. There also will be entertainment, arts and craft vendors, an ice carving demonstration at 11:15 a.m. and a grape stomp at 11:45 a.m., food tastings and food to purchase from a number of vendors, chef demos and seminars.

General admission adult tickets to the Festival in the Park are $43 (with a box lunch it’s $56). A designated driver/non-drinker ticket is $23 (with a box lunch it’s $35) and comes with two free coupons for bottled water. Additional tickets choices are available, such as VIP tickets and separate box lunch tickets.
