Connecticut promoter buys
Country Jam rights

Country Jam’s new operators say they are excited to bring more live music events into their repertoire.

Greenwich, Conn.-based Townsquare Media Group oversees radio stations, websites and music festivals and offers marketing services. The group acquired the rights to put on Country Jam and Rock Jam after last year’s Rock Jam.

The former operator of both events, Northern Crossarm Co. Inc., continues to own the Mack property where the jams take place at 1065 U.S. Highway 6&50.

Townsquare Live Events Manager Sally Mazzocchi said the group is excited to take on the Country and Rock Jam names to expand their current live music offerings, which include Mountain Jam, a jam band festival in Hunter Mountain, N.Y.; Headwaters Country Jam near Three Forks, Mont.; and various Taste of Country Music events.

“We are not new to festivals and we do know what we’re doing. We’re excited to get involved this year,” she said.

Country Jam will take place June 19-22. No dates or bands have been confirmed for Rock Jam 2014.

Mazzocchi told the Daily Sentinel Townsquare is “focused on Country Jam” at this point and plans to make an announcement pertaining to Rock Jam next week.
