Crews keep eye on fire in Bookcliffs

A fire in Hunters Canyon consumed 25 acres by 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit fire crews battled the blaze, located about 15 miles north-northwest of Grand Junction near the Bookcliffs. Firefighters first responded to the fire at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday.

No homes were threatened in the fire, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

BLM spokeswoman Erin Curtis said the 15 firefighters working to put out the fire would likely work overnight on the task.
