CSU advances to nationals in club lacrosse

Colorado State University’s club lacrosse team avenged an earlier loss to clinch a spot in the men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association national championships.

The No. 2 ranked Rams defeated No. 3 Brigham Young University 8-5 in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference Division I championship game Saturday evening at Walker Field.

The game was tied 4-4 going into the fourth quarter. BYU defeated CSU 8-5 two weeks ago in a regular-season game.

Colorado State receives an automatic bid. BYU could receive an at-large bid.

Westminster (Utah) College, ranked 10th, needed double overtime before it defeated the University of Northern Colorado 13-12 in the RMLC Division II championship game at Walker Field.

The MCLA national tournament is May 17-21 in Denver.
