Geer selected to All Big 12 first team

There were not many highlights for the University of Colorado football team this season, but senior Riar Geer did enough to make the Associated Press All Big 12 first team.

The Fruita Monument High School graduate was the only Buffalo player to make the first team. The 6-foot-4 tight end caught 36 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns for Colorado (3-9).

Geer led the Buffaloes in receptions in 2006, but missed several games in 2007 and 2008 with injuries. He was voted a team captain this season.

The team was chosen by a panel of 20 sports writers that cover the Big 12 for newspapers across the region.
