Data glitch blamed for Verizon’s outage

A software data glitch was blamed Thursday for the outage of phone and text-messaging services for Verizon Wireless customers in western Colorado.

The outage affected customers in Colorado and southern Wyoming, Verizon Wireless spokesman Bob Kelley said.

Verizon Wireless lost its services to customers about 2 a.m. Thursday, Kelley said. Western Colorado customers’ service was reinstated by early afternoon.

Customers on Colorado’s Front Range from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs did not have a disruption of service.
