•  Duane Charles Brouse, 88, Glade Park, died Dec. 20, 2008, at his home.

Services will be private.

Mr. Brouse was an aeronautics mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, Rusty and Lee, both of Glade Park, and Kit of Farmington, N.M.; one daughter, Ricky Gleason of Montrose; one sister, Thelma Cheatham of Fruita; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

•  Harry L. “Hap” Foster, 86, Grand Junction, died Dec. 22, 2008, at his home.

No service information was provided.

Mr. Foster was an educational administrator.

Survivors include his wife, Sara; two daughters, Margaret Abbey of Lander, Wyo., and Kathleen Arevian of Denver; and two grandchildren.

•  Ed Hightower, 65, Delta, died Dec. 21, 2008, at his home.

A reception will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28 at 1160 E. Fifth St., Lot 8, in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; four daughters, Cindy of Delta, Linda of Tecumseh, Okla., Lea Ann Ingraham of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mary Jo Boltz of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters, Jean Sills, Kaye Belveal, Eileen Rhodes and Bonnie Whitney, all of Colorado Springs; one half-sister, Mary Moreno; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

•  Former Grand Junction resident Maude Elizabeth “Bette” McDonald, 87, died Dec. 17, 2008, in Brownstown, Mich.

A memorial service will take place in Grand Junction at a later date.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Tinsler of Detroit and Vernon Tinsler III of Moab, Utah; one daughter, Julie VanBuskirk of Detroit; one brother, Gregg Turner of Florida; two sisters, Genevieve Beck and Beatrice Aden, both of Grand Junction; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

•  John Q. Russell II, 92, Delta, died Dec. 21, 2008, at Montrose Memorial Hospital.

Services will take place in Craig at a later date.

Survivors include two daughters, Sally Collins of Delta and Susan Winder of New Glarus, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren.
