• Lawrence Everett “Doc” Maynes, 86, Grand Junction, died Dec. 25, 2008, at his daughter’s home in Austin.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Mr. Maynes was a truck driver for Gay Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Larry of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Judy Nobles of Austin and Vickye Schrum of Montrose; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
• Former Eckert resident Sylvia Ida Belle Rutan, 92, College Place, Wash., died Dec. 22, 2008, in College Place.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cedaredge Seventh Day Adventist, with burial following at Cedaredge Cemetery.
Ms. Rutan was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Alan of Delta; two daughters, Carol Hargreaves of College Place and Evelyn Caldwell of Brighton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
