• Willis I. Berg, 92, Grand Junction, died Dec. 29, 2008, at his home.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Living Hope Evangelical Free Church.
Mr. Berg worked for the Bureau of Land Management and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Larry A. of Fruita; two daughters, Phyllis Goure of Rifle and Rita Kirk of Grand Junction; one brother, Ford Berg of Grand Junction; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

• Armand Thomas DeRose, 65, Grand Junction, died Dec. 25, 2008, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. DeRose was a switchman and conductor for the D & RGW Railroad.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer M. DeRose of Lakewood and Christina M. Spor of Grand Junction; his mother, Irene DeRose of Grand Junction; one brother, Louis C. Jr. of Grand Junction; one sister, Barbara Ann DeRose of Hemet, Calif.; and one grandchild.

• Felipita G. Fraynd, 92, Cedaredge, died Dec. 29, 2008, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert.
Services will take place at a later date in San Diego, Texas.
• Former Paonia resident Ronald “Ron” Krantwashl, 67, Great Falls, Mont., died Dec. 22, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Krantwashl was an airplane and heavy equipment mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Tederman; three sons, Joseph and Jeff, both of Great Falls, and Warren of Houston; two brothers, Larry of Texas and Charles “Chuck” of Grand Junction; and nine grandchildren.

• William I. McDonald, 53, Delta, died Dec. 28, 2008, at his home.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Delta Taylor Funeral Service.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew and Michael; one daughter, Shelly Geiss; one brother, Robert; two sisters, Mary and Betsy; and five grandchildren.
• Hildegarde Rappl, 83, Austin, died Dec. 29, 2008, at her home.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedaredge Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include one son, Karl Amereller of Castle Rock; one daughter, Hildegard Amereller of Munich, Germany; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
• Richard C. Steckel, 75, Crawford, died Dec. 27, 2008, at his home.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Paonia.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn “Susie;” one son, Richard Layne of Crawford; one brother, Dennis W. of Gunnison; and four grandchildren.
