John Ben Artaz, 88, Fruita, died Feb. 22, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fruita United Methodist Church.

Mr. Artaz was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division in World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Gibson of Broadbend, Wis., and Arlene Edwards of Grand Junction; one brother; seven sisters; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Wayne J. Egbert, 92, Grand Junction, died Feb. 23, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Floy; two daughters, Marilyn Henthorn of Boulder and Linda Friedman of Denver; one stepson Ron Andrew of Grand Junction; and one stepdaughter Judy Molnar of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Aidabelle of Grand Junction; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Karl William Fink, 77, Grand Junction, died Feb. 22, 2014, at HopeWest.

Mr. Fink was a manager in the insurance industry.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; and one sister, Nancy Valentino of Waterford, Conn.

Charles Lester Glad, 83, Grand Junction, died Feb. 22, 2014, at Hope West.

Services will be a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; one son, Keith Murray of Georgetown; two daughters, Karen Morray of Georgetown and Kathy Rogers of Empire; two brothers Bill Glad and Shirley Klinger, both of Portage, Ind.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Hall, 94, Grand Junction, died Feb. 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Services will be at a later date.

Survivors include three sons, Dan Hall of Rifle, David Hall of Grand Junction and Gregg Hall of Glendale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Marian L. Kohler, 90, Grand Junction, died Feb. 24, 2014, at Hope West.

Services will be at a later date.

Survivors include one son, John Kohler of Grand Junction, one daughter, Mary Kohler of Grand Junction; one brother, Donald Yerkes of Isabella, Calif.; one sister, Beth Brand of Victorville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

■ Former Grand Junction resident Mittie M. Jones-Neade, 98, died Feb. 16, 2014, in Fairfield, Calif.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christian Church of Vacaville in Vacaville, Calif.

Ms. Jones-Neade worked for food service for schools.

Survivors include one son, John Jones of Vacaville, Calif.; and one daughter, Beverly Jones Pendley of Vacaville, Calif.

Eleanor May Nelson, 90, Delta, died Feb. 21, 2014, at Willow Tree Care Center.

No services are planned.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Nelson of Delta; one daughter, Charlene Fedler of Delta; one brother, James “Jimmy” Johnston of Cortez; one sister, Nancy Verizema of Auburn, Wash.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Gail Pahler, 56, Clifton, died Feb. 22, 2014, at her home.

Private family services are planned.

Survivors include one son, Joshua Bollan of Denver; two daughters, Natasha Back of Grand Junction and Anna Velasquez of Montrose; two brothers, Gerry Pahler of Boulder and Leon Pahler of Salt Lake City; and four grandchildren.

Mary Louise Petersen, 84, Grand Junction, died Feb. 21, 2014, at HopeWest Hospice.

No services are planned.

Ms. Petersen was a telephone operator with Mountain Bell.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Herron and Terri Jarvis, both of Grand Junction; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eugene E. “Gene” Reedy, 89, Paonia, died Feb. 13, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Reedy owned and operated Reedy’s Full Service Filling Station in Paonia.

No services are planned.

Survivors include one son, Bob Reedy of Paonia; and two daughters, Karen Weldon and Carol Pavlisick, both of Paonia.

Janelle Sanders, 71, Clifton, died Feb. 21, 2014, at HopeWest Hospice.

No services are planned.

Survivors include one son, Robert Drgac.

Ilmars Alvars Ziedins, 38, Clifton, died Feb. 20, 2014, at his home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. March 8 at the Latvian EU Lutheran Church of Denver, with a reception to follow.

Survivors include his parents Alvars and Barbara Ziedins of Denver; and one brother, Jani Ziedins of Castle Pines.
