• Marie “Jerri” Baker, 87, Delta, died Jan. 1, 2009, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will take place at a later date.
Survivors include one son, John of Mesquite, Nev.; two daughters, Cheryl Young of Fruita and Judie Fedler of Delta; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

• Sylvia L. Baldwin, 90, Grand Junction, died Jan. 5, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Callahan-
Edfast Mortuary Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; one son, David of Grand Junction; one daughter, Linda Gafner of Atlanta; one brother, John Chiaro of Grand Junction; three sisters, Lucy Shuey, Rosie Loetz and Angie Sinnott, all of California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

• George Dixon Black, 84, Grand Junction, died Dec. 25, 2008, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Mr. Black was the owner and operator of a dry cleaner.
Survivors include two sons, George A., and Larry D., both of Grand Junction; one daughter, Cheryl A. of Grand Junction; and three grandchildren.
• Anthony “Tony” Gross, 84, Grand Junction, died Jan. 5, 2009, at his son’s home.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Foster Mortuary Chapel in Wilson, Kan. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Gross was the chief inspector for the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Survivors include two sons, Jim of Denver and Joseph of Grand Junction; two sisters, Clara Tietjen of Red Cloud, Neb., and Lena Reed of Glenvil, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

• Jean Plantz, 76, Clifton, died Jan. 5, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2881 Orchard Ave. Services will take place at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Mrs. Plantz was a nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Keith of New Castle and David of Craig; one daughter, Connie Sinclair of Grand Junction; one brother, Don Greenfield of Arizona; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
• Arthur “Art” E. Pryor, 75, Grand Junction, died Jan. 4, 2009. Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Buena Vista.
Mr. Pryor was a maintenance worker for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Marie; one son, Roger Dale of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Collins of Chillicothe, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
