• Lona R. Alstatt, 91, Grand Junction, died Jan. 7, 2009, at Mantey Heights.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Snell-McLean Funeral Home in Fruita. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Fruita United Methodist Church. Burial will be in New Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Alstatt was a technician at the Regional Center.
Survivors include three sons, David and Gary, both of Grand Junction, and Dale of Fruita; one daughter, Janette Theuer of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to the Fruita United Methodist Church, Lower Valley Fire District Rescue Squad.
• Albert D. Bear, 88, Grand Junction, died Jan. 7, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services are pending.
Mr. Bear was an airline mechanic.
Survivors include one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

• Robert Gordon Le Baron, 80, Orem, Utah, died Jan. 6, 2009, in Orem.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Monday at 2235 Kingston Road. Services will follow at 10 a.m.
Dr. Le Baron was a church educator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an insurance salesman.
Survivors include his wife, H. Idale.
• Leon R. Mikelonis, 59, Hotchkiss, died Jan. 6, 2009, at his home.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Delta Taylor Funeral Services Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Tena; one son, Jeff Chamberlain of New Castle; one daughter, Amy Shapen of Yorba Linda, Calif.; one brother, John of Florida; and three grandchildren.
• Jean Plantz, 76, Clifton, died Jan. 5, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3076 E 1/2 Road. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Mrs. Plantz was a nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Keith of New Castle and David of Craig; one daughter, Connie Sinclair of Grand Junction; one brother, Don Greenfield of Arizona; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
• Joy R. Speight, 88, Mack, died Jan. 6, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Canyon West Worship Center in Fruita.
Survivors include one son, Jerry of Mack; one daughter, Jean of Centennial; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
