•  Richard “Rick” H. Byers, Jr., 61, Rifle, died Jan. 16, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Rifle Funeral Home.

Mr. Byers was a veteran and fisherman.

Survivors include two sons; three brothers, Pat and Mike, both of Rifle, and John Farrell of Greeley.

Memorial contributions to any veterans organization.

•  Mary Kline Fleming, 93, Cedaredge, died Jan. 17, 2009, at Horizon Care Center in Eckert.

Services will take place at noon Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Cedaredge. Burial will be at Cedaredge Cemetery.

Ms. Fleming was a registered nurse and a nursing school instructor.

Survivors include two brothers, Earl of Craig and David of Taylors, S.C.; and three sisters, Jessie Easterly of Grand Junction, Edith Euler of Thornton and Jeanne Loucks of Broomfield.

Memorial contributions to the Gideons International or the First Baptist Church Youth Ministry, P.O. Box 400, Cedaredge 81413.

•  Marie A. Golden, 96, Grand Junction, died Jan. 18, 2009, at her home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Martin Mortuary Chapel and at noon Friday at the Church of Christ. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Grand Junction Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Golden was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Sr. of Monument and Joe of Grand Junction; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions to the Alpine Hospice.

•  Ruth Klein, 88, Grand Junction, died Jan. 19, 2009, at Larchwood Inns.

Private services will take place in New York.

Mrs. Klein worked in retail sales.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff of New Jersey and Melvin of Ohio; two daughters, Marsha Klein-Illgen of Sonoma, Calif., and Beth Klein of Clifton; and eight grandchildren.

•  Norval Jens Larsen, 90, Grand Junction, died Jan. 19, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the American Lutheran Church.

Mr. Larsen worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Survivors include his wife, D. Arlone; three sons, Ken of Longmont, Ric of Littleton and Bill of Grand Junction; one daughter, Kathy Metier of Fort Collins; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

• James. E. McCullah, 82, Grand Junction, died Jan. 17, 2009, at LaVilla Grande Care Center.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Mr. McCullah was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters, Patricia Horne and Jaime McCullah, both of Denver; two brothers, John of Michigan and Floyd of Parks, Ark.; one sister, Faye Rogers of Boles, Ark.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

•  Charles H. McDonough, 92, Grand Junction, died Jan. 20, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the Oddfellows Cemetery.

Mr. McDonough was a chemist for an oil company.

Survivors include one son, Jerry of Grand Junction; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
