•  Knight Leon Colburn, 71, Eckert, died Jan. 24, 2009, at his home.

Private services have taken place.

Survivors include his wife, Diana K.; six sons, Kevin of Windsor, Knight of Redondo Beach, Calif., Ron Slocum of Delta, Kirk of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and William “Pat” Slocum and Wade Stiggins, both of Colorado; six daughters, Kim Kennedy-Smith of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Koral Evans of Mooseheart, Ill., Leanne Colburn and Kelley Slocum, both of Salt Lake City, and Cindy Coron and Amber Colburn, both of Colorado; one brother, Donald Duran Colburn of Lakewood; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

•  Kenneth A. Grover, 93, Grand Junction, died Jan. 25, 2009, at Larchwood Inns.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Martin Mortuary. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Grover was a hydrologist for the Bureau of Reclamation.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheri Brown of St. George, Utah; one brother, Gerry of Grand Junction; one sister, Lois Herbst of Grand Junction; and four grandchildren.

•  Former Fruita resident John L. Harvey, 70, Unionville, Mo., died Jan. 18, 2009.

Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
Interment has taken place in Livonia, Mo.

Dr. Harvey was the owner and operator of Action Pest Management, Star Security and a reserve police officer.

Survivors include four sons, David Harvey Sasser of Colorado Springs, Michael D., and Steven Smith, both of Grand Junction, and Jon of Centerville, Iowa; three daughters, Jacqueline K. of Grand Junction, Holly of Kirksville, Mo., and Meshara McAlister of Centerville; one brother, Sam of Grand Junction; one sister, Marjorie Gates of Weippe, Idaho; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Demorial contributions to VFW Post 1247, 1404 Ute Ave., Grand Junction 81501.

•  Aaron Keith Richardson, 27, Grand Junction, died Jan. 25, 2009.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jubilee Family Church of God. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his mother, Kathy Denise Richardson of Grand Junction; one brother, Christopher W. of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandparents, Keith Richardson of Grand Junction, and the Rev. Wade and Sylvia Bell of Cleveland, Tenn.

• Charles John Simonson, 73, Fruita, died Jan. 25, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

No services were provided.

Mr. Simonson was a structural steel draftsman.

Survivors include two daughters, Lori Montoya of Denver, and Lisa Simonson of Phoenix; and one brother, Jim of Grand Junction.

•   Joseph C. Valentine, 90, Grand Junction, died Jan. 26, 2009, at the VA Medical

No services will take place.

Mr. Valentine was a motorman in the oil fields.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, David Clinton of Palisade, and Paul Leon of Las Vegas; two daughters, Charlotte Ann McPherson of Las Vegas and Sharon L. Tow of Fruita; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

•  Roy F. Voda, 84, Grand Junction, died Jan. 17, 2009, at Mantey Heights Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Mr. Voda was a military officer.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; two daughters, Avis Severance of Grand Junction and Tara Voda of Summerfield, Texas; two brothers, Frederick A. of Hot Springs, Ark., and Ronald L. of Longview, Texas; and six grandchildren.
