•  Mary Louise D’Angelo, 88, Grand Junction, died March 9, 2009 at Aspen Ridge Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. D’Angelo was a postal clerk.

Survivors include two daughters, Sister Eileen Farley of Concordia, Kan., and Betty Wyant of Grand Junction.

•  A. Dean Hurt, 82, Palisade, died March 8, 2009, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Mr. Hurt was a principal.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three sons, Rick Dee of Palatine, Ill., and Ken Dean and Ron Eugene, both of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

•  Michael Wayne Jones, 54, Wellington, died March 7, 2009, at his home.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine; two sons, Christopher and Jomes, both of Wellington; one daughter, Stephanie of Wellington; his mother, Vivian Jones of Delta; four brothers, Daniel of Westcliffe, Dick of Cedaredge and Doug and Steve, both of Grand Junction; and three sisters, Cheryll Jones of Delta, Jean Matula of Montrose and Becky Moreland of Olathe.

•  Eli Tony Martinez, 83, of Delta, died March 9, 2009, at his home.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. A Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with interment to follow at Delta City Cemetery.

Survivors include 12 sons, Tony Martinez of Indiana, Arthur Martinez of California, Adolf Duran of Salt Lake City, Andres Sanchez of Colorado Springs, Bill Duran of Eckert, Leo Duran of Walsenberg, Ron Duran of Clear Field, Utah, and Roger Duran, Luben Duran, Albert Duran and Mike Duran, all of Delta; four daughters, Gloria Lopez of Durango, Rosemary Sanchez of Arizona, Ruby Saenz of Delta and Frances Duran of Grand Junction; one sister, Grace; 55 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.

•  Bertha “Esther” McCarty, 90, Fruita, died March 8, 2009, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. McCarty was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Richard of Mancos; two daughters, Betsy Fears of Fruita and Roberta Luellen of Colville, Wash.; three sisters, Virginia Hawkins of Kentucky and Emmaline Burns and Pauline Edwards, both of California; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

•  Ida L. Meisenheimer, 77, Delta, died March 8, 2009, at her home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Taylor Funeral Service in Delta.

Survivors include, four sons Frankie Wilks of Salt Lake City, and Harold Wilks, Gary Wilks and Charlie Wilks, all of Delta; two daughters, Betty Gagnon and Roberta Chapman, both of Delta; one sister, Mary White of Delta; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

•  Kenneth Christian Mortensen, 82, Fruita, died March 7, 2009, at his home.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Mr. Mortensen was a police officer.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sons, Kenneth C. of Thornton and Dennis N. of Fruita; two daughters Nancy M. Leonard of Fruita and Ann N. Mortenson of Lakewood; one brother, Donald Dean; five sisters, Anna Jean Mortensen-Smith, Cleone Mortensen-Hyde, Noreen Mortensen-Stipp, Coline Mortensen-Glenron and Gail Mortensen; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

•  Genevieve M. Price, 81, Hotchkiss, died March 8, 2009, at Delta County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Hotchkiss Taylor Funeral Service Chapel.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hotchkiss Elks Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Mike of Eckert; one daughter, Kelly Christian of Delta; three brothers, Frederick MacKendrick of Delta, Lawrence MacKendrick of Hotchkiss and Donald MacKendrick of Grand Junction; two sisters, Mercedes Oglesby of Salida and Lucille Lane of Hotchkiss; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

•  Quentin Olof Spendrup, 49, Fruita, died March 5, 2009, in Grand Junction.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ of Grand Junction.

Mr. Spendrup was a business owner.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Zebadiah of Fruita; two daughters, Aubrey D. Wells and Emily Mae Spendrup, both of Grand Junction; his father, John of Grand Junction; and one brother, Trent of Grand Junction.

•  Lazar Szocs, 79, Fruita died March 7, 2009.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.

Mr. Szocs was a retired meat cutter for Sigman Meat Company.

Survivors include two sons, Frank of Alamogordo, N.M., and Steve of Denver; one daughter, Ann Marie Plemons of Fruita; one brother, Steve of Hungary; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

•  Alfred William Ward, 89, Grand Junction, died March 7, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Junction.

Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Ward was a retired postal carrier.

Survivors include his wife, Freda G.; four daughters, Linda Ward and Donna Brakhahn, both of Salt Lake City, and Debra Ward and Lisa Frisch, both of Grand Junction; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
