Eugene James Abeyta, 43, Fruita, died March 21, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel, followed by burial at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.

Mr. Abeyta was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Hanson; one son, Chance Hanson of Fruita; his parents, Eugene of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Sharon Jones of Henefer, Utah; two brothers, Christopher Abeyta and Justin King, both of Clifton; and two sisters, Bernadette Walters of Layton, Utah, and Crystalina Hopkins of Cedar City, Utah.

Memorial contributions to the Eugene Abeyta Memorial Fund, c/o any Wells Fargo Bank branch.

Edward E. Channel, 87, Palisade, died March 23, 2014, at LaVilla Grande Care Center.

Private services will take place at Louisville Cemetery in Louisville.

Mr. Chanel was retired from Xcel Energy.

Survivors include four sons, Richard, Terry, John and Jim; two daughters, Nancey and Amy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harry L. Chesky, 95, Delta, died March 24, 2014, at Willow Tree Care Center.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Delta. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Mary Ann Cox, 67, Grand Junction, died March 23, 2014, at her home.

Services are pending with Palisade Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; two sons, Jimmy Ray and Brandon; and three daughters, Kimberly Osborne, Renee Harrol, and Kathy Meeks.

Scott Van Davis, 50, Grand Junction, died March 21, 2014, at Columbine House in Carbondale.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Glenwood Springs.

Survivors include his mother, Doris of Glenwood Springs; and two brothers, Gary of Mesa, Ariz., and Craig of Canyon City.

Ruby Harden, 84, Fruita, died March 22, 2014, at Hospice Care Center.

Services are pending with Fruita Funeral Home.

Survivors include three sons, Ben Lewis of St. Louis, Ronnie Lewis of Redfield, Ark., and John Lewis of Creve Coeur, Ill.; one daughter, Donna Gayle Snoke of Fruita; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Paul Ives Hunter, 86, Delta, died March 22, 2014, at Willow Tree Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado and at 1 p.m. Friday at Presbyterian Church in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one son, Paul Jr. of Bayfield; three daughters, Debra Hudson of Mayfield, Ky., Linda “Christine” Measley of Katy, Texas, and Elizabeth Jones of Grand Junction; one sister, Elizabeth Westing of Apex, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

F. Gene Israel, 79, Silt, died March 19, 2014, in Rifle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in New Castle.

Mr. Israel worked in electronics service.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; one son, Brent of Silt; one daughter, Denise Doolen of New Castle; one brother, Bert of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Joyce Hicks of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Helen Marie Kramer, 86, Hotchkiss, died March 24, 2014, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hotchkiss United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sallie Waldron of Hotchkiss and Jean Marie Maher of Belle Foursch, S.D.; one brother, Donald Turner of Fort Collins; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Abbie Kay Marschner, 75, Grand Junction, died March 25, 2014, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Ms. Marschner was a chaplain.

Survivors include two daughters, Valorie Fox and Katherine Yale, both of Grand Junction; two sisters, Louise Fry of California and Mary Lee Butterfield of Littleton; and four grandchildren.

Benito Ramon Martinez, 75, Montrose, died March 21, 2014, at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. April 6 at the Elks Lodge in Montrose.

Survivors include one son, Vincent; one daughter, Stephanie Martinez Hawthorne; two brothers, Victor and Cisco; one sister,  Helen Mier, and four grandchildren.

Carol Elaine McKay, 70, Loma, died March 20, 2014, at University Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.

Mrs. McKay was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two sons, David Thorne of Colorado Springs and Daniel Thorne of Fruita; one daughter,  Deborah McCoy of Grand Junction; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Walt Mosher, 75, Grand Junction, died March 23, 2014, at Hospice Care Center.

Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Mosher was a construction project manager.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen; one son, Mike of Palisade, one daughter, Julie McCallum of Grand Junction; one brother Floyd of Fruita; and three grandchildren.

Mary Louise Ortiz, 85, Grand Junction, died March 23, 2014, at her home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Martin Mortuary. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Ms. Ortiz was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Joanne Rose Ortiz of Grand Junction; two brothers, Charlie Montoya and Andrew Montoya, both of Denver; five sisters, Erma, Terry, Margie, Shirly and Bertha; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Phyliss Gene (Swanson) Parish, 88, Frisco, Texas, died March 22, 2014, at Texas Health Resources of Plano.

Services are pending with Fruita Funeral Home.

Surivors include three sons, Grant of Frisco, Texas, Gary of Silverthorne, and Gregg of Aurora; and five grandchildren.

Edward John Perry, 62, Grand Junction, died March 20, 2014, in Grand Junction.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mesa Funeral Service.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Reed; two sons, Toby Kramer of Palisade and Shane Kramer of Grand Junction; one daughter,  Katherine Nicole Mulligan of Albuquerque; one brother, Paul of Manchester, N.H.; two sisters, Virginia Perry of Chicago and Winifred Perry of Manchester; and six grandchildren.

Celestine Thomlinson, 64, Clifton, died March 22, 2014, in Clifton.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, followed immediately by services at Mesa Funeral Service.

Survivors include her husband, Paul David Sr.; two sons, Paul David Jr. of Las Vegas and Mark Anthony of Clifton;one daughter, Ann Marie Ryan of Clifton; her mother, Dolly Bell Woodward of Visalia, Calif.; one brother, Franklin Winston Meeks of Buffalo, Mo.; five sisters, Colleen Hamilton and Dovie Dalliah Flynn, both of Grand Junction, Sharon Kay Reigel of Visalia, Linda Sue Taylor of Branson, Mo., and Vinita Louise Mullins of Clifton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Gail Webber, 70, Loma, died March 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Private services will take place.

Mrs. Webber sold wholesale goods.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Edward; and one son, Bryan Thomas.
