•  Betty Louise Buford, 78, Grand Junction, died March 26, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. today in the municipal section of Orchard Mesa Cemetery.

Ms. Buford was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by one son, Jack of Whitewater; one daughter, Sherry Hadar of Glenwood Springs; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice.

•  Eva Moselda Cotten, 84, Hotchkiss, died March 25, 2009, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Hotchkiss Elks Lodge No. 1807. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the lodge.

She is survived by two sons, Roger of Gunnison and Dale of Delta; one daughter, Phyllis Cadwell of Fruita; one sister, Elva Lee Drake Cotten of Hotchkiss; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchilren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

•  Claudia Doris McCoy, 71, Grand Junction, died March 19, 2009, at Larchwood Inns.

Services will be at Larchwood Inns, which will have more information.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony and Steven, both of Georgia; and two brothers, Donald Meyers of Grand Junction and Clifford A. Meyers of Estes Park.

•  Jim “Jimmie” Palmer, 71, Mack, died March 25, 2009, at Family Health West in Fruita.

No services are planned.

He is survived by one son, John of Grand Junction; one daughter, Marilyn Smith of Olathe; three sisters, June Nickels of Mack, Jo Turocey of Margate, Fla., and Sandy Pierce of Pueblo; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

•  Josephine E. Vollers, 93, Paonia, died March 24, 2009, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Paonia Care Center.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph of Louisburg N.C., and Charles of Riga, Mich.; two daughters, Judith Martin of Paonia and Maryanne Campbell of Livingston, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

•  William Richard Whalen, 68, Palisade, died March 22, 2009, in Glenwood Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Palisade Christian Church.

Mr. Whalen is survived by his wife, Yolanda M.; one son, Paul M. of Palisade; one daughter, Carrie C. of Parker; one brother, David C. of Sugarloaf, Calif.; and one grandchild.
