Dorthy Bernice Bates, 93, Grand Junction, died Sept. 8, 2012, at Mantey Heights Nursing Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Palisade Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Harvey of Palisade; two daughters, Lorena Krizman of Grand Junction and Letha Ilene Nussbaumer of Oregon; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elmer Eugene Fowler, 89, Grand Junction, died Sept. 9, 2012, at his home. Services will be private.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; two sons, Gene and Jim, both of Grand Junction; two daughters, Linda Haynes and Sharon Sale, both of Grand Junction; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A. Genevieve Hice, 97, Fruita, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Family Health West.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 at Cory Cemetery and 11 a.m. Sept. 22 at United Methodist Church in Delta.

Ms. Hice was a teacher.

Survivors include one son, Edward of Austin; two daughters, Carolyn Aust of Fruita and Marilee King of Idaho; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ellen “Elvera” Howard, 91, Grand Junction, died Sept. 9, 2012, at Aspen Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Martin Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the American Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Howard was a registered nurse.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck of Grand Junction; two sons, John and Jim; one daughter, Maribeth McKenna; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Wayne Harvey Kendall, 72, Paonia, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Delta County Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Paonia, with a potluck to follow at Paonia Town Park.

Survivors include two sons, David and Dann, both of Cedaredge; three daughters, Michelle, Christie and Sharon Kendall, all of Durango; three brothers, Lee of Hotchkiss and Darrell and Delbert , both of Paonia; three sisters, Ethel Burns of Arkansas, Eunice Davis of Eckert of Paonia, and Francis McMillan of Paonia; and numerous grandchildren.

Mark Randall McDowell, 55, Clifton, died Sept. 7, 2012, at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fellowship Church in Grand Junction.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; one son, Scott of Clifton; two daughters, Crystal Lehr of Rifle and Sarah Washburn of Highlands Ranch; and five grandchildren.

Allan Ross “Al” Rogers, 76, Delta, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Delta County Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, William of Murray, Utah; one daughter, Allison Rogers of Northglenn; two brothers, Bruce of Spokane, Wash., and Richard of Denver; and three grandchildren.

Duane William Selders, 60, Clifton, died Sept. 10, 2012, at his home.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Fawn Frasier of Grand Junction and Melissa Nading of Washington; four brothers, Daniel, Paul, Larry and Allen, all of Grand Junction; and six grandchildren.

Foy Curtis Smith, 59, Grand Junction, died Sept. 8, 2012, at Community Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3136 Cross Canyon Lane in Grand Junction.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis and Kevin, both of Grand Junction, and Hank of Clifton; mother, Lorena Hudson of Grand Junction; two brothers, Leroy Hudson of Grand Junction and Gary Smith of Clifton; and three grandchildren.

Berma M. Stalker, 97, Palisade, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley. No services are planned.

Ms. Stalker was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Lester of Corona, Calif.; two daughters, Verla Stalker of Grand Junction and Bonnie McCurry of Clifton; one brother, Calvin John of Murrieta, Calif.; three sisters, Wanda Koehne of Maybell, Maxine Howe of Sunbeam and Alice Iacovetto of Phippsburg; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
