Meade Abbey, 92. Grand Junction, died Sept. 10, 2012.

Mr. Abbey was a police officer.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Martin Mortuary, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m.

Lajuanna Kay Castle, 51, Grand Junction, died Sept. 4, 2012, near Baggs, Wyo.

Mrs. Castle was a computer engineer.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Palisade Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband, Robert of Grand Junction; three sons, Luke of Lawrence, Kan., and Lee and Drake, both of Grand Junction; one daughter, Misti Gomez of Clifton; parents James and Sandra Lee of Bogata, Texas; brother Michael of Bogata; sister Vicki Myers of Bogata; and three grandchildren.

Faye Delaine Durfee, 89, Grand Junction, died Sept. 7, 2012.

Ms. Durfee was a grade school teacher.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Crossroads First United Methodist Church. There will be no committal service.

Survivors include a son, Kent of Grand Junction; four daughters, Stephanie Goetschel of Costa Rica, Denise Williams of Austin, Texas, Maribeth Frame of Grand Junction, and Judy Saunders of Falcon; one brother, Leonard Dagerman of Papillion, Neb.; one sister, Betty Eule of Lakewood; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas W. Murphy Jr., 68, Grand Junction, died Sept. 11, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Murphy was a salesman in the printing industry.

Services will be held in Scottsbluff, Neb., at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Michele of Grand Junction; two sons, Dane of Grand Junction and Shawn of Littleton; two brothers, Patrick of Arkansas and Daniel of Scottsbluff; four sisters, Tami Engleman of Nebraska, Billye Castinado of Nebraska, Shannon Fenimore of Nebraska, and Colleen Mathewson of Nebraska; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Danny Sadler, 66, Grand Junction, died Sept. 10, 2012, at Hospice Care Center.

Mr. Sadler was a fireman/engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi of Grand Junction; three daughters, Tammy Duerksen of Firestone, Veronika Morton of Brighton, and Melodie Moore of Herrin, Ill.; four brothers, Billy and Rex, both of Grand Junction, and Royce and Todd, both of Loma; four sisters, Paulie Armstrong of Kearney, Okla., and Andrea Weaver, Peggy Ward and Lenna Sadler, all of Grand Junction; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B N. 12th St., Grand Junction 81506.

Foy Curtis Smith, 59, Grand Junction, died Sept. 8, 2012, at Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at 3136 Cross Canyon Lane in Grand Junction.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis and Kevin, both of Grand Junction, and Hank Ownbey of Clifton; mother, Lorena Hudson of Grand Junction; two brothers, Leroy Hudson of Grand Junction, and Gary Smith of Clifton; and three grandchildren.

Charles E. Chuck Thomas, 93, Grand Junction, died Sept. 6, 2012 at Family Health West Hospital.

Mr. Thomas was a musician and a piano tuner.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 21 at Unity Church, with a reception at Redlands Community Center to follow.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie of Grand Junction; and one brother, Floyd E. of Oklahoma.
