Mabel Irene Babb, 91, Grand Junction, died April 28, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

Private family services are planned.

Mrs. Babb was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Earl F.; three sons, James Booth of Rowlett, Texas, Don Booth of Rochester Hills, Mich., and George Booth of Petoskey, Mich.; one daughter, Debra Kawakami of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Willis C. Ball Sr., 69, Palisade, died April 29, 2011, at his home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Ball was a mechanical engineer.

He is survived by two sons,  Willis C. Jr. of Grand Junction and David R. of New York City; two daughters, Bernice L. Waters of Montrose and Laura Ann Beard-Stewart of Grand Junction; two brothers, Vernon of Maryland and Perry of North Carolina; two sisters, Charlene Baecker of Montrose and Deliva Austin of Denver; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Donald L. Canepa, 71, Grand Junction, died May 1, 2011, at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab, Utah.

Heis survived by his wife Linda L; three sons, Don Jr. of Sparks, Nev., Bill White of Carlin, Nev., and Mark Canepa of Elko, Nev.; one daughter, Jodi Pearce of Grand Junction; three brothers, Chet of Lake Havasu, Ariz., George of Las Vegas and Dale of Pioche, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Richard Lee Chinn, 68, Hotchkiss, died April 29, 2011, at his home.

Mr. Chinn was a teacher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hotchkiss Community United Methodist Church, followed by inurnment at Riverside Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Ted and Kyle; two daughters, Tracy Chinn Sternburg and Chris Chinn Allyn; four brothers, Gary, Ron, Alton and Ken; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

E.W. “Ed” Cox, 60, Grand Junction, died April 30, 2011, at his home.

Violet M. Gladfelder, 83, Delta, died May 1, 2011, at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharmane Johnson of Utica, N.Y., and Bobbi Koppes of Delta; two brothers, Phillip Neuberger of Grand Junction and Vernon Neuberger of Delta; two sisters, Arlene Puls and Elaine Heinz, both of Delta; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Doris Alene Gustavson, 85, Grand Junction, died April 29, 2011, at her home.

Services will be at noon Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints West Stake Center at 2542 G Road.

She is survived by three sons, Paul of San Jose, Calif., John of Grand Junction and Mark of Anaheim, Calif.; one daughter, Ann Eldredge of Rochester, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Jo A. Hale, 77, Grand Junction, died May 1, 2011, at Larchwood Inns.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mrs. Hale was a school cook.

She is survived by five sons,  Jarrett Little and Ernest Hale, both of Grand Junction, Russell Canant of Harrah, Okla., Raymond Pinnel of Oklahoma and Clifford Canant; two daughters, Ren’e Hale of Montrose and Debra Doyle of Grand Junction; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Esther Eliene Nelson, 64, Grand Junction, died April 30, 2011, at her home.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Andy; one son, Stephen Vigil of Wyoming; two daughters, Katharine of Oregon and Tara Vigil of Denver; three brothers, Donald Gordon of Pueblo, David Gordon of Grand Junction and Loren Gordon of Ash Fork, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jeanie Patten, 69, Fruita, died April 30, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

Services are pending for Aug. 12 with Martin Mortuary.

Ms. Patten was a cook.

She is survived by one son, William Kenneth McNeil Jr. of Grand Junction; three daughters, Laura Jean McNeil and Elva Rae Young, both of Grand Junction, and Betsy Ann McNeil of Montrose; one sister, Mary Arletta Richardson of Duchesne, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Laroma Joy Puckett, 66, Clifton, died April 28, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Ms. Puckett was a certified nursing assistant.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Richard of Clifton; two brothers, Ron Standridge of Utah and Russ Wilburn of Kentucky; two sisters, Linda Schultz and Pat Fridel, both of Utah; and two grandchildren.

Delores Jean Rich, 86, Mack, died April 30, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita.

She is survived by five daughters, Shirley J. Thorpe of Montrose, Joey Dodgion of Fruita, Julia M. Angle of Loma, Lennie Banger of Mack and Della Marie Berg of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one brother, Victor Thompson of Mack.

Theodore “Ted” Sparn, 85, Grand Junction, died May 1, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Mr. Sparn was a shoe store owner and operator.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Bets;” four sons, Joseph Sparn and Dick Hall, both of Grand Junction, Thomas Sparn of Boulder and Tom Hall of Modesto, Calif.; three daughters, Judy Norman of West Bloomfield, Mich., Liz Hall of Highlands Ranch and Amy Peck of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Dick of Grand Junction and Edwin of New Milford, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Ann Summers, 81, Grand Junction, died April 30, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Summers was an assembly worker.

She is survived by two sons, Terry of Grand Junction and Randy of Glenwood, Minn.;  one daughter, Cheryl Tatman of Fruita; three sisters, Mary Harker, Thelma Jones and Lorena Spencer, all of Grand Junction; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
