Darrell C. “Blackie” Blackburn, 87, Grand Junction, died Nov. 6, 2011, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Mr. Blackburn was a retired college music professor.

Services will be at later date.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; one son, Bruce of Grand Junction; one daughter, Sheri Brown of Grand Junction; one brother, Harry Blackburn of Pueblo; one sister, Eunice Gaines of Fort Myers, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Larry W. Cool, 69, Grand Junction, died Nov. 8, 2011, at Hospice Care Center.

Services will be a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Carole; one son, David Long of Grand Junction; three daughters, Donna Cool of Denver, Joyce Leisten of Aurora and Carol Ann Thurstin of Loma; and three brothers, Donald Cool of Vanderhoof, B.C., Gerald Cool of Clarkdale, Ariz. and Harold Cool of Clifton.

Loretta Fern Johnson, 85, Grand Junction, died Nov. 7, 2011, at Palisades Living Center.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Victory Church with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Palisade Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was a retired nurse’s aide.

Survivors include four sons, Dewey E. of Clifton, Harold D. of Michigan and Darrell W. and Richard L., both of Grand Junction; three daughters, Betty L. Holmes of Indiana and Shirley J. Masseau and Sharon R. Smith, both of Grand Junction; two brothers, Dewey Sprague of California and Art Sprague of Idaho; one sister, Avenell Jensen of Grand Junction; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Former Cedaredge resident Norma Medford, 94, died Nov. 6, 2011, at Hearthstone Health Center in Round Rock, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedaredge Taylor Funeral Service Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cedaredge Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Burial to follow at Cedaredge Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Ed Medford of Round Rock; one daughter, Peggy Medford Stiffler of Manzanola; two brothers, Carol Jensen of Paradise, Calif., and Russel Jensen of Austin; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Benjamin E. Miller, 33, Grand Junction, died Nov. 6, 2011, at the Prospector Motel.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at 2084 West Sequoia Road.

Mr. Miller was a truck driver.

Survivors include his mother, Susan Miller of Grand Junction, two brothers, Brian Miller of Aurora and Toby Miller of Parachute; and two sisters, Jodi Gillespie of Aurora and K.C. Miller of Grand Junction.

Lee Don Wood, 68, Grand Junction, died Nov. 4, 2011, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Martin Mortuary.

Mr. Wood was a carpenter.

Survivors includes his wife, Bobbi; two daughters, Cindy Revoir of Grand Junction and Becky Marc of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Della Johnson and Wanda Woods.
