Beaty Jean Skeffington, 79, Hotchkiss, died Oct. 13, 2011, at Paonia Care Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Hotchkiss.

Survivors include her husband, James; three sons, Robin W. Clutter of Monte Vista, Patrick A. Clutter of Phoenix and C. Frank Clutter of Sparks, Nev.; one daughter, Sharon Ferrier of Salida; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Betty B. Smith, 88, Fruita, died Oct. 14, 2011.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.

Ms. Smith was a waitress.

Survivors include one son, Leon of Columbia, Calif.; one daughter, Jeannette Gallagher of Roseville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren

Memorial contributions can be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

James W. Thayer III, 80, Grand Junction, died Oct. 14, 2011, at the Peach Patch.

Services are pending through Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Mr. Thayer was a boat builder.

Survivors include his wife, Janis; one son, Steven of Fruita; four daughters, Susan Miller, Maria Kelley, Sharon Palmer, all of Grand Junction, and Patricia Ndgorka of Parker; one brother, John Thayer of Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
