DEATHS: March 29, 2014

■ Former Grand Junction resident Lawrence Thomas Kapustka, 72, died March 27, 2014, in Grand Island, Neb.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Mr. Kapustka retired as a maintenance electrician from Sunstrand Corp. in Grand Junction.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie; two daughters, Deborah Monson of Wood River, Neb., and Lynn Wiese of Wilbur, Neb.; one son, David of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Robert; one sister, Patricia Dishman; two grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Wanda L, Laskowski, 87, Palisade, died March 27, 2014, at Palisades Living Center.

Services took place Friday.

She is survived by one daughter and two grandchildren.

Martha Louise Wallace (Peters), 88, Pueblo, died Jan. 26, 2014, in Beaufort, S.C.

Ms. Wallace was a homemaker, artist and secretary.

She is survived by one daughter, Ram Ohan of Grand Junction; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions to Valley Bible Church in Grand Junction.

Nina Mae Welborn, 71, Grand Juntion, died March 27, 2014, at HopeWest Care Center.

No services are planned.

Mrs. Welborn retired as a technician at Grand Junction Regional Center.

She is survived by her husband, Harry C.; two sons, Daniel Weybright and Joseph Weybright; four daughters, Shanon Clinkenbeard, Shaun Leach, Sandra Dudley and Sharon Hulsey; one brother, Alvin Hubbard; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dorothy Wharton, 78, Clifton, died Feb. 27 at her home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. April 5 at Clifton Christian Church.

Ms. Wharton was an assembly line worker.

She is survived by four daughters, Carol Kellerby, Brenda Gunter, Molly Guthrie and Jacqualine Feaster; two brothers, Bob Gibson and Lonnie Gibson; two sisters, Clara Jo Pitzer and Mildred Welch; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
