UPDATED: DeBeque mill levy vote still close
The difference is just three votes in a decision to pass or oppose a property tax increase for De Beque School District 49-JT residents.
The new total as of 4 p.m. Wednesday is 177 people against the measure and 174 for it. A tally earlier today showed 168 voters for and 171 against the measure, which would generate $485,277 in property tax annually for the school district to use in its general fund for educational purposes.
According to Mesa County Elections, ballots have been counted from every vote center for early and Election Day voting. All mail-in ballots have been counted as well, except for those submitted Nov. 2 and provisional ballots. The county also has eight days to count all military mail-in ballots.
