Dog killer gets three years
The man who dragged Buddy the dog to death last winter on Colorado National Monument will serve three years in federal prison and then a year of supervised probation.
U.S. District Judge Philip A. Brimmer today also fined Steven Romero $500 and ordered him to pay $345 to Buddy’s owners.
Romero dragged Buddy behind his pick-up truck through the Colorado National Monument, and “in doing so needlessly mutilated, tortured and killed the dog,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
