Dog walker discovers woman’s body on lawn

A woman walking her dog Saturday morning in the 500 block of Autumn Breeze Drive in Clifton discovered the body of a woman lying face down in the front yard of a residence there.

A deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department called the incident a “standard unattended death investigation.”

“It’s unknown if there’s foul play at this point,” said Deputy Garth Cowley.

He described the woman as about 30 years old.

Cowley said the initial call came in at 8:31 a.m., and a few hours later the scene had been cleared and there was no active investigation. It is unknown whether the lawn the woman’s body was found on was her own.
