DOW planning outdoor classes for women only

A dog is said to be man’s best friend, but a man’s bestest friend is the person he goes hunting/fishing/camping with.

The Division of Wildlife and hundreds of would-be bestest friends already know this.

That’s why recent advances in women-oriented outdoor classes are so popular.

Those wives/girlfriends/partners want to share the fun but they also know the worst way to learn is from what’s-his-name.

The DOW is hosting two women’s cast-and-blast weekends over the next month or so, free and educational.

Leave what’s-his-name at home, with the dog.

WHAT: Women-only one-day and two-day seminars in fly-fishing and shotgun fundamentals.

WHERE: Kremmling and the Jim Olterman/Lone Cone State Wildlife Area near Norwood.

WHEN: Kremmling — 8:30 a.m. until mid-afternoon Saturday (June 26); Lone Cone — 5 p.m. July 23 through 1 p.m. July 25. Space is limited. Registration deadline is July 2.

HOW: All fishing/archery/shooting equipment is furnished. Lunch at Kremmling is $15; Lone Cone asks a $40 refundable deposit, bring your own camping gear to Lone Cone.

WHO: Kremmling — contact Kris Holinka or Sarah Reachard at 970-725-6200; Lone Cone — Dawn Bresett, 970-252-6000 or e-mail to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
