Downtown GJ to take on German flavor

As the sounds of high school marching bands fade from the parade route on Main Street, the ooompah-pah of German music will begin on Colorado Avenue.

The 29th annual Oktoberfest celebration is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Colorado Avenue between Fifth and Seventh streets, along the street and in the area parking lots.

There will be handcrafted German-American product vendors, jugglers, dancing and musicians.

Also on tap are food and beer, a Weiner Dog race and a children’s activities area.

Oktoberfest is hosted by the Kiwanis Club, the Elk’s Lodge and the German American Club.

Call 270-0809 or go to http://www.kiwanis-gj.org/activities.html for information.
