Drive-by shooting reported in Montrose, no injuries

Police across the region are on the lookout for a white pickup truck that allegedly was involved in a drive-by shooting earlier today in downtown Montrose.

According to police, a white, four-door Chevrolet pickup with Texas plates traveled by a parked vehicle in the zero-hundred block of North Cascade Avenue in Montrose just after 10 a.m., and three to four gunshots were emptied into the unoccupied vehicle.

No one was injured in the alleged shooting, according to Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn.

The truck was last reported traveling on U.S. Highway 550, and police are advising officers to approach with caution if it is spotted. Initial reports indicate that two Hispanic males were seen inside the truck when the shooting occurred.

Police also broadcast a partial license plate for the truck — “NMW” — and said that the 1990s-model truck also has a split back window.

Check back for updates as they become available.
