Drivers rescued from vehicles after collision

Two men were taken by ambulance to a hospital late Saturday night after a sport utility vehicle and small pickup collided at 32 1/2 and E roads.

The driver of the SUV was pinned under his vehicle until emergency personnel rescued him.

The driver of the pickup had to be extricated from his vehicle.

Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Jeff Lytle was at the scene Saturday night and said witnesses told him the SUV was southbound on 32 1/2 Road and went through a stop sign, causing the collision. The pickup was westbound on E Road, Lytle said. The accident happened around 10 p.m.

The collision also wiped out a fence in front of the residence at 3247 E Road.

Lytle said he believes both men had been drinking alcohol and that it might have been a factor in the crash.
