Dynamite event in Gateway this weekend
Looking for some peace and quiet this weekend?
Well, you won’t find it at the annual Gateway Unaweep Fire Department’s annual Dynamite Shoot set for Saturday, April 30, in Gateway.
What you will find is the opportunity to produce lots of loud, dramatic explosions while helping a nonprofit volunteer fire department. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4:20 p.m.
Cost is a $10 shooter fee, $2 per shot. Shooters ages 14 and younger must have adult supervision and carry their hunter safety card. Proceeds go to the volunteer fire department that serves the Gateway and Unaweep Canyon area.
Events are Offhand Rifle (100–230 yards), Big Dog Range (775–830 yards), Special 4/1,000 yard targets, Bench Rest Unlimited Rifle (550–610 yards), Bench Rest Hunting Rifle (350–430 yards), Pistol Shoot (50 feet), Running Deer Range, and .50 BMG Range. Muzzle breaks are allowed.
Go hungry because there will be a breakfast with pancakes, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and coffee, and the Gateway PTO will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, chips and soft drinks. The dynamite shoot is an alcohol and drug-free event.
