Education standards meeting Monday

The public is invited to offer feedback to Colorado Department of Education officials on new model-content standards for social studies at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Grand Junction DoubleTree Hotel, 743 Horizon Drive.

The Education Department will visit eight cities across the state to hear feedback on the proposed content standards, including 5:30 p.m. meetings in Edwards on Aug. 18 and Durango on Aug. 19 .

Model-content standards for 13 subjects are being revised this year. Drafts of the proposed standards are available at http://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeassess/UAS/DraftStandards.html.

A draft of personal financial literacy standards will be available for review at Monday’s meeting.
