Energy company’s stock back to earth after mystery jump

The stock price for Energy Fuels Resources Inc. fell back to earth on Tuesday.

The stock price for the company, traded as EFRFF.PK, shot to $999 on Monday, according to both the Yahoo and Google financial-data search engines.

A spokeswoman for the Canadian stock exchange said she couldn’t explain why the company’s stock skyrocketed on Monday, when the exchange was closed.

Company officials who said previously they didn’t know why the stock price jumped on Monday couldn’t be reached for comment on Tuesday.

The company’s stock price fell to 15 cents a share on Tuesday.

Energy Fuels has a permit application pending before the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for a uranium mill in the west end of Montrose County. It also owns uranium mines on the Colorado Plateau.
