‘South Pacific’ auditions scheduled for June 30
The Theatre Project will have auditions for ages 16 and older for its upcoming production of “South Pacific.”
Auditions will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at The Theatre Project Stage, 835 N. 26th St. You do not need to prepare anything for the audition. Take a completed audition packet, your schedule of availability for July and August and be ready to sing and learn choreography.
Performance dates will be Sept. 6–7.

Paonia instructor offers dance classes
Dance instructor Emma Stedman will offer six-week dance classes for children that will start Tuesday, June 25, at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia.
Classes are Creative Play Dance for ages 4–8; Pre-Ballet for ages 6–10; Ballet I for ages 8 to adult; and Contemporary Choreography for ages 12 to adult.

Two children’s workshops scheduled
Creative Avenues, 835 N. 26th St., will have two workshops next week for kids.
■ Play Workshop: Secret Agent Spectacular, for ages 6 and older, will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, June 24–28. It costs $50 and includes a final performance at the conclusion of the workshop.
■ Summer Arts Enrichment Program class for students in kindergarten through eighth grade will begin Monday, June 24, offering classes in art, dance, music, acting and more. Full or half-day options are available with discounts for weekly registration and siblings.

Learn about watercolor with class
The Beginning Contemporary Watercolor class taught by Sara Alyn Oakley will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 29–30, at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St.
Students will explore the serendipity of watercolor on the wild side in this free-flowing introduction to the gorgeous medium of watercolor. Tuition costs $170.

The Art Center puts out call for artists
The Art Center has put out a call for artists for The Student, Instructor and Open Studio Exhibit that will be on display July 2–27 at the center, 1803 N. Seventh St.
The exhibit is open to any artist who have taught or attended a workshop, class or open studio session through The Art Center Programming from July 2012 to July 2013. This is for Art Center sponsored workshops or classes only. It does not include classes or workshops that are put on by clubs or outside organizations.
Artwork can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 28. Entry forms are available at gjartcenter.org, at The Art Center’s front desk or you can have one mailed to you by calling 243-7337, ext. 2.
