Chamber video contest accepting submissions
If you enjoy making short films and love Grand Junction then enter the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s amateur video contest.
The contest supports the Buy Local/Blue Band Campaign and is looking for participants to submit short videos that tell why it is important to shop local and support the campaign.
“The fun and crazier the video the BETTER!!” a news release said.
Anyone over the age of 13 may enter and group or club/organization entries are welcome.

Call out for artists for stadium grandstand artwork
The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture has put out a call for entries for works of art to be displayed at the grandstand facility at the new Suplizio Field/Stocker Stadium complex to be completed in May 2012.
The artwork project falls under the City of Grand Junction’s 1 percent for the arts program. The submission deadline is May 2. Installation is set for May 1, 2012. Painted artwork or murals or water features will not be accepted, a news release says.
