Ex-GJ man accused of sex assault; bond set in another case

•  A former Grand Junction man was arrested on suspicion he sexually assaulted children more than a decade ago, starting when he was about 12 years old, according to his arrest affidavit.

Jens Petersen, 26, was handed a $25,000 bond on suspicion of sexually assaulting children during incidents between December 1993 and February 2000 in Mesa County.

Petersen now resides in Wickensburg, Ariz. He has a girlfriend who is six months pregnant and a 4-month-old child with another woman, according to his attorney, Albert Stork.

Mesa County senior judge Art Smith allowed Petersen to have contact with his child.

•   A Grand Junction man arrested on a warrant on suspicion of sex assault on a child was handed a $60,000 bond in court Tuesday.

Randall Edward Bauer, 61, is not allowed to have contact with the alleged victim or children under 18.
