RSSCops: Fatal accident to close I-70B for hours
A Colorado State Patrol accident investigator slowly closes the door on a Chevrolet Malibu in which a man was killed in an accident at the intersection of I-70 Business Loop and Frontage Road Wednesday.
An accident that killed one man and injured two other people this afternoon will close the Interstate 70 Business Loop until at least 7 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol said.
The accident happened just after 3 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-70B across from Renta Space LLC, 3038 I-70B.
State Patrol Trooper Don Moseman said an adult male over the age of 21 was attempting to turn east onto I-70B from the I-70B Frontage Road when his Chevrolet Malibu was struck broadside by a Ford F150 heading west on I-70B.
The man in the Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene, Moseman said. Two people in the Ford truck were taken to the hospital. Their genders, ages and conditions were not immediately released.
The State Patrol is advising the public to stay away from I-70B while authorities investigate the accident and clean up the scene.
