Fatal crash on I-70 overnight; alcohol suspected

A few minutes past midnight, state police responded to a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 70, near the 20 Road overpass. When troopers arrived they found a 21-year-old male who had been driving the car ejected and deceased in the eastbound lanes.

Police said that the man’s 2006 Pontiac G6 was traveling eastbound on I-70 and ran off the left side of the road just before a right-hand curve in the roadway. The car crashed into road sign and rolled several times in the median, ejecting the driver.

Alcohol is considered a factor in the crash, and the accident is still under investigation.
