FBI dive teams set for second day searching Colorado River
A dive team from the Federal Bureau of Investigation is searching the Colorado River near the Orchard Mesa pedestrian bridge again today, a day after similar operations in the area.
Police are not releasing much information about their investigation, saying only that it coincides with a probe ongoing “for a while,” according to police officials.
About 18 people were on scene this morning, including investigators from the Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Search and Rescue team personnel.
Police Cmdr. Mike Nordine confirmed to a reporter that the dive team is from the FBI’s Washington, D.C. office, and Denver FBI spokesman Dave Joly acknowledged the agency’s involvement in Monday’s operation yesterday, but declined further comment.
