Firefighters continue battle near Evergreen

EVERGREEN — Some residents remain evacuated while firefighters battle a blaze near Evergreen.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday the fire has burned about 35 acres and threatened about 100 homes in the foothills west of Denver.

The sheriff’s office says the fire burned about 35 acres after it broke out on Monday.

In southwest Colorado, a 75-acre fire near Creede was 50 percent contained Monday. Fire officials say the blaze threatened three houses.
