Forest Service testing Aspen real estate market

ASPEN — The U.S. Forest Service is testing the waters of the Aspen real estate market to raise money for its projects.

The federal agency plans to auction five lots in one of the most expensive real estate markets in Colorado. The government hopes to raise $10 million to rebuild its Aspen facilities.

According to the Aspen Times, the agency is considering other land sales in Colorado that would raise funds for projects in the White River National Forest.
