Fox31 Denver: Republican governors group pulling support for McInnis

But RGA disputes that report

Denver television station Fox31’s Eli Stokols is reporting today that the Republican Governors’ Association may be pulling support for Scott McInnis and canceling fund-raising events for the former congressman.

RGA spokesman Tim Murtaugh, however, said that’s not so.

“We have been, and continue to be, engaged in Colorado,” Murtaugh told “Our focus has always been, and will remain, defeating John Hickenlooper. We’ve been running an independent expenditure against John Hickenlooper, and those efforts will continue.”

Murtaugh said the RGA has not canceled any fund-raising events, which are being held for its efforts against the Democratic mayor.

“Every penny that we have spent in Colorado has been on our independent expenditure (reports),” he said. “Our TV and radio and Internets efforts have all been focused on Hickenlooper, so I don’t have any information about who is shopping this or where they’re getting their information, but we remain focused on Hickenlooper just like always, just like we were yesterday, just like we were last week. Any reports to the contrary are complete fiction.”

Stokols’ story is here.
