Free summer school meals begin

Summer classes begin Monday for School District 51 students. But you don’t have to be a District 51 student to get a free meal during the six-week extended-learning period.

Any kid under the age of 18 can receive free breakfast and lunch at schools hosting summer classes, which will run between June 13 and July 22.

Meals will be served each Monday through Thursday during those weeks, except for the week of July 4, when meals will be served July 5 through July 8.

Kids can get breakfast and lunch at Dos Rios Elementary, Dual Immersion Academy, Fruitvale Elementary or Rocky Mountain Elementary.

Lunch only will be served at Bookcliff Middle School, Chipeta Elementary and Orchard Mesa Middle School.

Breakfast will be served between 8 and 8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Adults can eat school breakfast for $1.75 or lunch for $3.25.
