Fresh snow lets Powderhorn open early

Two feet of snow fell over two days at Powderhorn Mountain Resort, meaning the resort will open for a preview this weekend for skiers and riders before the official opening day.

The official opening at Powderhorn is set for Dec. 15, but they’ll be open both Saturday and Sunday this weekend for limited skiing and riding. Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and lift tickets will be $49. The Flat Top Flyer will be open, but terrain will be limited, the resort said.

The Ski & Ride Center, rental shop, and Sunset Grill will all be open for the weekend. Call 268-5700 for more information, or go online to powderhorn.com.
