Fruita will light up as it celebrates Christmas in hometown style
The Grand Valley Power and Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce Hometown Christmas Celebration and Parade of Lights will illuminate Fruita on Saturday, Dec. 18.
Activities will be near the Fruita Civic Center with the Fruita Rotary Club hosting photos with Santa and a canned food drive from 2–4:30 p.m. The Girl Scouts Mitten Tree also can be seen on the Civic Center grounds.
The Fruita Arts and Culture Board will have its annual Christmas craft show from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. featuring handmade gifts, crafts and art. A cookie and crepe walk will be hosted by the Fruita Monument High School Orchestra.
Fruita Assembly of God Church, 108 S. Peach, will present a live nativity from 2–5:30 p.m. The church will be collecting toy donations for the Lions Club toy drive.
The Fruita Lioness chili supper starts at 4:30 p.m. at the IOOF Hall, followed by the parade of lights at 5:30 p.m.
