Fun in the West theme of long-held Fruita Fall Festival
Fun in the West is the theme of the 96th annual Alpine Bank Fruita Fall Festival happening Friday through Sunday, Sept. 24–26, in Fruita.
The festival, carnival and vendor booths open at noon Friday with the Fruita Rotary Club Beer Garden serving drinks from 4–10 p.m. Arts and crafts, food and service vendors will fill downtown Fruita and around Circle Park. Bands perform throughout the event on stages at the Fruita Civic Center Park and Circle Park.
Country-rock band Exit 42 will provide the tunes for the street dance at 7 p.m. Friday in Circle Park.
Also Friday night, Front Range magician and hypnotist Keir Royale will perform a family-friendly show from 7–9 p.m. at the Civic Center stage.
Don’t sleep in Saturday morning or you’ll miss the 9 a.m. Xcel Energy Bed Race featuring teams from around the valley racing homemade beds on wheels. Vendor booths also open at 9 a.m., and the festival parade is at 10 a.m. Saturday, beer garden hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Baking and canning contests begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and Rim Rock Rodeo finals are at 7 p.m. Rodeo events continue Sunday at Rimrock Arena at 10 a.m. Cowboy Church starts and vendors open at 11 a.m. Sunday. The beer garden is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
A Youth Pet and Talent show from 1–4 p.m. Sunday concludes the festival.
