Get in on clean-up act for Public Lands Day
Saturday is National Public Lands Day and there’s plenty of opportunity to celebrate public lands by donating a little sweat equity.
For starters, you can lend a hand in a cleanup of public lands north of Grand Junction, pick up trash at the shooting range on 27 1/4 Road or help rehab the popular Mica Mine Trail near the Bangs Canyon Trail head.
Many of the events are coordinated by Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (http://www.voc.org).
