GirlFlowers offers discounts on bling to all students

Claire Ridgley opened GirlFlowers in downtown Grand Junction this week.

Claire Ridgley, owner of the brand new GirlFlowers at 637 Main St., wants to give students a much needed break by offering a 15 percent discount to anyone who studies.

“It could be a college student, beauty school, high school, whatever,” Ridgley said.

Ridgley, an English native, said after nearly 10 years of traveling the world, she decided to settle down in Glenwood Springs. She opened Unity Star Jewelry downtown which flourished for three years. Ridgley enjoyed the snowboarding and other amenities of the area but decided to make a brand new start with a new business and new name in Grand Junction.

In addition to the funky and eclectic bags, dresses, scarves, and body jewelry, GirlFlowers sells handmade hair accessories and jewelry which Ridgley makes herself. She sells much of her merchandise at http://www.girlflowers.com.

After only a week, Ridgley says business is starting to pick up as word spreads of the new boutique. “I think it’s already going to be busier than in Glenwood,” she said.

GirlFlowers will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Send questions to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
